Background:
Whitehall Primary School was built in 1976. It was originally a junior school but was amalgamated to be a primary school for four to 11 year olds in 1984. The school consists of a modern building that has been extended to cater for most of the children in the main building. The school also has three temporary classrooms plus an art studio and a film, photography and recording studio. The school has an open and stimulating environment with classes sharing additional teaching space in the ICT suite, school library, activity area, food technology as well as a family and community room. The school is on the edge of the inner city. The school provides a wide and varied range of out of school clubs including football, games, drama, guitar, choir and environmental activities. Children are also taken on theatre visits to enhance their experiences. The school aims to provide a caring, happy and stimulating environment where everyone can feel valued, respected and trusted member of the school community.
