Background:
Opened in 1969, Perry Court was completely refurbished in 1996. The grounds comprise a 'large' field and a playground with two courtyard areas, which helped the school win second prize in the Bristol in Bloom competition 1998. The school'serves Bristol's Hengrove area, although around a fifth of pupils come from neighbouring Knowle and Filwood. In 1999, the school made a successful bid for National Grid for Learning funding, which led to the provision of a new computer suite. A 'close partnership' is promoted between home and school and the 'proactive' parent-teacher association is currently raising funds to develop the playground and build an amphitheatre. The school aims to provide a 'broad, quality education in a climate of care' and the 'excellent' staff use a topic approach to learning. Many lunchtime and after school activities are offered.
