Background:
Situated in the north west of Bristol, the school's history dates from 1832, although its present buildings date from 1953. Facilities include eight classrooms in the main building, a hall, library area and kitchen. Stok Bishop offers a 'varied' programme of extra-curricular activities including football, netball, volleyball and mini tennis. It also has a 'strong' musical tradition. Children have the opportunity to join choir, glockenspiel and recorder groups, and to receive instruction in flute, saxophone, violin, oboe, viola, cello and keyboard. The school 'regularly' supports charities with Year 6 organising a charity day and poppies being sold to support the Salvation Army. It aims to 'provide opportunities for everyone to learn, develop and be valued so that they may achieve personal excellence'.
